"Inside the Manosphere"
What Every Christian Parent Needs To Know
Whether or not you are raising boys, if you are a Christian parent, what you need to know is that this “brand” of masculinity is being sold to your children. On purpose. Admittedly. And strategically. On YouTube. And every other social media site. What can you do as a parent?
Educate yourself.
First, you need to watch this documentary and then watch it with your pre-teen/teen age kids.
Why?
Because the Red Pill “conservatives” who occupy the manosphere have one primary target audience: pre-teen and teenage boys.
They are operating under a guise of “Traditional Family Values.” This is the same rationale behind what we are currently seeing on a national scale. Sex offenders and criminals are hijacking these words. And the church is falling for it. All over “christian” culture, we see the abuse of women being justified, narcissistic male leaders operating with zero accountability, and countless victims left in this wake. Oftentimes this is shrouded in “traditional” or “complimentarian” language. It is not traditional, anymore than raping and pillaging women and children in villages in traditional. It is not concerned with the family. This is dangerous and evil. Think: wolves in sheep’s clothing.
My suggestion is that you watch this documentary and pause and watch and pause (and fast forward the many explicit parts where the half-naked girls a.k.a. “dish-washers” fill the screen.) Here are some talking points.
Questions to Ask as you watch:
What is this person “selling?” (Hint. These men are literally salesmen, interested in building their wealth through lying to others.)
How would this person answer the question, “What does it mean to be a man?”
Do you agree with that answer? Why or why not?
What men in your life that you admire and respect fit don’t fit in that description of “masculinity”?How does this “message” about “masculinity” line up with the character of Jesus?
Was Jesus “masculine?” How do you know? How did he display masculinity? How did he treat women?
